529 funds used for qualified expenses for graduate degree. University does not supply a 1098-T. How do I enter the qualified expenses?

The expenses are qualified cost of living expenses using estimated cost of living expenses supplied by university and were not paid to the university. The university covered tuition. How do I enter these expenses? The exception for 1089-T only seems to allow entry of payments to the university?

This may seem odd, but you really don't have to report the 1099-Q distribution. One of our experts gave wonderful answer to this type of question a couple years ago and it still applies today. See below:
