If you indicated that this is not what you paid to the school, you would enter the total amount of tuition paid to your school. This would include all amounts paid by you, someone else, scholarships, fellowships, and student loans. You would include the box one amount in your calculation.
This box is for payments received for tuition and related expenses. If you believe the amount in box one on your 1098-T is inaccurate, you can contact your school's registrar to confirm.

In the 1098-T screen, click on the link "What if this is not what I paid the school" underneath box 1. You will then be able to enter the actual amounts paid.
