1098T from my secondary institution is showing that I paid $0 to the school in b1. The standard did change, and my 2017 form listed my full tuition and expenses in b2.

I have scholarships, grants, and loans that were paid directly to the school. Yet, it is showing that there were $0 of payments. Since the 1089T form is wrong, and I am aware that I can self-report, what other steps do I need to take/prepare for to insure that I get the deductions I am qualified for?

If you paid nothing in 2018 then you have no education credit to take.

Sorry. Was on mobile, didn't realize it had a character limit. I added the remaining details.

If you didn't pay anything out of pocket then you do not get any credits ... but if you did and the school form is wrong then get them to correct it.
