What's the difference between TurboTax Online and the mobile app?

Although TurboTax Online and the mobile app function similarly and support the same tax forms, here are the main differences:

  • You can snap a photo of your W-2 in the mobile app, which will automatically enter it on your return.
  • The mobile app doesn't have Print Center, Tools, or the Clear & Start Over feature.

The good news is that you can switch between TurboTax Online and the mobile app to take advantage of each's unique features.

For example, if you're using TurboTax Online and want to snap a picture of your W-2, install the TurboTax app, sign in with your TurboTax login, and snap away. You can then resume work in TurboTax Online.

Likewise, if you need access to Print Center, Tools, or Clear & Start over, you can sign in at TurboTax.com with your mobile app login to access those features.
