What expense category is this? I offered my svcs for our schools fundraiser. We split the profits, I sent the school a check for their portion, I see that as an expense.

On your Schedule C, report the expense in the Commissions and Fees category.

Thanks - so I just use "misc expense" in TT and give it the description of commissions and fees and it will find that line?

You can actually get more precise than that.

With TurboTax Online open, choose Federal in the left pane.  Then:

Self-employment income and expenses: Choose Edit/Add

Your 2019 self-employed work summary:  Choose Edit

Expenses:  Choose Add expenses for this work

At Tell us about any expenses for XXXX, Under “Less Common Expenses,” you should be able to fill in the circle for Commissions, and you’ll proceed from there.
