To enter your General Self-employed Income, follow the steps below. These instructions will fit your edition of the software.

  1. Log in and click Take me to my return
  2. Click Federal Taxes and then Income & Expenses (If you have the blue button 'Check for more income', click it and then click 'Skip to see all income')
  3. Next scroll down to Self-Employment and click Show more
  4. Click Start/Revisit next Income & Expenses
  5. If you've already entered self-employed work, you'll be at a summary screen of the businesses you've entered. Click Edit next to the business that you want to add your general income to.
  6. You'll come to a screen titled Your XYZ Info and on this screen, click Add income for this work.
  7. Check the second circle for Additional Income and click Continue. Next, you'll be able to enter your income, with a description and amount. You can enter one line entry for all general income or multiple lines (by client, service, etc); this is just for your convenience
