I tred to report sale of a rental property.. I got this message.... Depreciation and Amortization will be ready by February, but likely sooner"... I have called and asked about this 6 times. I get a different answer from customer support every time. Half the people have no idea what I am talking about. The other half says "please be patient". Well today I fold a great deal on Amazon. I bought H&R Block premium for $42. It includes federal and state. I have been suffering with Turbotax for 15 years. Today I am finished. It's H&R Block from now on. BTW Trustpilot gives Turbotax a rating of 1.2 stars. I guess we know why.

Interesting and GODO LUCK with that. Here's how the rental depreciation section currently reads in H&R Block's product.
WHO ARE YOU ? You haven't checked lately because it actually works.
I asked google AI.. it reports Turbo Tax does not work until sometime after Feb 11. But it reports that H&R does work correctly.. and I tried it..
From Google'...

What are you talking about? I have copies of BOTH programs (as well as a few others) and that screenshot was taken earlier TODAY. In fact, TurboTax actually works with respect to rental property depreciation, at least from the test return I set up months ago.
Just a hint: AI is 100% WRONG about quite a few facts and scenarios. I've actually caught Gemini and ChatGPT serving erroneous information in response to several queries. They're nowhere near 100% reliable especially with respect to inquiries that contain ambiguities.
I'll never understand why someone replies when they have no idea what they are talking about. I'm ready to leave as well, been waiting solely on this. Can't get updates.
I'm heading over to do the same thing. Should have done it a while ago, but I foolishly waited two weeks for TurboTax to release the function on Feb 13 as promised (after they had failed their original deadline of February). TurboTax is charging over $100 more than H&R for the same functionality, and I was only sticking with them because I was a 15 year customer.

Not sure to what you are referring but H&R Block was just updated yesterday and NOW the depreciation section in rentals is functioning properly.
I have no idea why you can't get updates but YOU are the one who has no idea what you are talking about, I suppose, since everyone else can get updates without experiencing any issues. Looks like user error on your part.

Experience with BOTH speaking here and the functionality at the moment is NOT the same, at least for the time being. One small example is import partners and capability.
TurboTax supports more brokers than does H&R Block and, personally, I look for Interactive Brokers and Merrill Edge. TurboTax supports both currently while H&R Block supports neither. Know what? I can't post this disparity on the H&R Block community because THEY DON'T HAVE ONE.
Still not ready.
