The total from Schedule 1-A line 38 goes to Form 1040 line 13b, not to Schedule 1.

Thank you. This is correct. I've learned the overtime deduction is a "below-the-line" deduction and flows to 1040 13b, not to Schedule 1 as I previously understood.
