Your file shows that you are a dual-status alien.  Dual status aliens are not allowed to take the standard deduction per tax law.

If this was an accident and you are not really a dual-status alien, then you can fix this by going to Forms Mode in your Return (it shows you are using the desktop program).

  • Bring up your return and click the Forms Mode icon
  • When the list of forms populates, select "Info Wks"
  • Scroll down to Part VI - Additional Information for your Federal Return
  • There will be a check box for Dual Status Alien Return
  • Uncheck this box (of course only do this if you are not really a dual status alien)
  • You will now be allowed the full standard deduction
