What tax declaration should I make for a newly formed LLC? I am the only member and I'm trying to avoid double taxation while protecting my personal assets.

A single member LLC that has NOT chosen to be taxed as a corporation can file as self-employed using TurboTax Self-Employed or TurboTax Home & Business.

Enter your full LLC name as listed in your formation documents, EIN and business address (if different from your mailing address). You will enter your income and expenses the same as a sole proprietor.

LLCs are state entities so the rules vary, but most states do not require you to file a separate LLC return. Check with your state.

You probably have to file an annual registration and pay a fee to your Secretary of State.
