if you have a mac or pc, you'll now have to acquire desktop software. if you contact support they may push a download to you. you'll also need to download the .tax2018 file from your online a/c
Online tax preparation and e-filing for 2018 returns is now permanently closed. You had until midnight on Tuesday, October 15 to finish and attempt to e-file; if your e-file was rejected you had until October 20 to make corrections and re-file. Now it is too late to use online software or to e-file. If you have any changes/corrections at all to make to your 2018 return, you now have to complete it using desktop software, which you must download to a full PC or Mac (not to a mobile device).
If you already paid for your online software you can ask customer support for a download of the desktop software.

If you are getting a refund, there is no penalty for filing late. If you owe tax due, then file and pay the amount due as shown on the Form 1040, but expect a bill later from the IRS fo rthe penalty and interest you will owe. Only the IRS will calculate this—TurboTax will not calculate it.
The IRS (not TurboTax) has closed e-filing for the 2018 tax year permanently and forever. This is so they can prepare their online systems for the 2019 tax filing season.
TurboTax has shut down the online version of TurboTax 2018 permanently and forever so they can prepare their own systems for the 2019 tax filing season.
Therefore, if you dessire to use TurboTax to complete and file your 2018 tax return you will have to purchase, download, install and use the CD/Desktop version of the TurboTax 2018 software. You can get it at https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/
Once you have completed the tax return, then you will have to print, sign and mail it to the IRS yourself.
If you have already paid for TurboTax 2018 Online, then you will not need to pay for the CD version of the software. Just log into your online account, select the option to continue your return and follow the prompts to download your .tax2018 file, as well as download the CD version of whatever online flavor of TurboTax 2018 you already paid for.
The extension only gave you 6 months to file the return. From April 15 to Oct 15. Then Efiling closes. You now have to print and mail it. And it is only an extension to file the return. Any tax due was still due back on April 15. If you are getting a refund there is no penalty for filing late.
Professional tax preparers can still Efile until IRS shuts the Efile season down in mid November sometime, this may be why some TT users think they can still Efile after the Oct 15th deadline.
