Entering 1099-NEC issue using online version

Hello,

Can someone please explain why I can NOT enter my 1099-NEC. I have deleted it using jump to find the form. I clear my cookies and cache. I have entered the 1099-NEC a dozen times and it still does not sure the amount entered. It keeps adding the amount I enter to my tax refund. It shows I made no income. Why does something so simple have to be so difficult. I guess its time to find a new software. Please if you know how to fix this let me know. Thank you!!

Try using a Windows PC that minimum system requirements with a Chrome Browser that is also up to date.

Otherwise, you are correct. Enter 1099-NEC, by clicking the Jump to link in the search results from entering 1099-nec.

For more information, see: Does a 1099-NEC or 1099-MISC mean I'm self-employed? or click the Learn More link, which defines Form 1099-NEC here:

Amounts in Box 1 on your 1099-NEC represent nonemployee compensation income.

This could include:
 - Fees received for consulting, independent contracting, freelance work and other professional services
 - Commissions received
 - Executor or trustee fees
 - Fees for serving as a director of a company
 - Any noncash amounts received for services performed
 - Witness or expert witness fees

Amounts that should be reported as wage income include:
 - Group-term life insurance, mileage and automobile allowances, and other employer-provided benefits
 - Golden parachute payments
 - Bonuses or severance pay not included on your W-2
