To get past this screen so you can file your taxes, you need to update Schedule SE-T.

The process: delete Sch SE-T, take a quick run through of the self-employment to recalculate Sch SE-T, and then turn off the Max Deferral.

To do this in TurboTax, follow these steps:

First, delete Sch SE-T that applies by following these steps:

  1. From the left menu, select Tax Tools.
  2. Select Tools.
  3. Scroll to Delete a Form.
  4. Scroll to Sch SE-T, select Delete, confirm the deletion.

Next, to replace Sch SE-T, return to the self-employment income & expenses interview in the Income & Expenses section and select Edit/Add.

  1. Select Edit for your business.
  2. Scroll down to Done so that the Sch SE is recalculated.
  3. Finish any other questions in the self-employment interview and click Continue.

Lastly, revisit the section for the Self-employment tax deferral entry:

  1. Return to the Deductions & Credits section.
  2. Scroll to Tax relief related to COVID-19 and Show More.
  3. Select Self-employment tax deferral and select Revisit.
  4. Answer Yes at the next screen to get back to Let's start by getting your eligible income.
    1. If you do not want to defer any self-employment income, "Enter your eligible self-employment income" should be blank.
      1. Select Continue.
    2. At Tell us how much you'd like to defer, "Enter amount" should be blank.
      1. Select Continue.
  5. Scroll down and select Wrap up Tax Breaks and Continue.
  6. Run through the Federal Review again.

There is no such tool tab, with delete form.

Agree, you have to go to View and then click on forms and they will open up a dbl col view, one on left for forms in your return. And page view of form on right. Bot line of this pane has button for delete form.  To exit this “area” go back to View and click on step by step.  Easy peasie, not!  Good luck. Rest of process worked for me.

Your version of Turbo Tax is very different than the one I am using.  I was able to delete the worksheet and redo the SE worksheet.  But if I put my SEP contribution in, I still get the same error message for line 11.  What is wrong with your program?  I should start charging you for all the times I have to repeat the steps.  Please fix it.

Thanks.  I did find it but it did not work for me.

I'm about to throw the computer through the window!

This doesn't work. It just keeps doing the same thing. My form has a zero in the space, which is correct, but it wants a lower number. If I put in a negative, it says that's wrong. Whatever I do, it won't let me file my taxes. I would mail them but I already paid for Efile for the State taxes.

Try leaving the space blank, with no number, no zero.  This is referenced in previous posts on this thread.

Thanks for the help.  Two things to add to that advice. Make sure to delete the decimal point as well as the 0.

Second, since the version of TurboTax has apparently been revised to correct the problem within the last few days, you'll probably have to update your TurboTax before it will submit.
