I have always used “Premium”but when I initially signed-in this year and did all the entriesI realized it was the “Sole Proprietor” version and I’d have to start from scratch to switch back (more expensive version too!)! I don’t know why it started me with that version as I’ve never used it.
is there anything I can or need to do?
or am I ok with the “Sole Proprietor” version??
and finally, what’s the difference in the versions besides the cost???
thx!!

There is no version called "Sole Proprietor". If you are self-employed you should be using online Premium or any version of the desktop download software in order to prepare a Schedule C for your business expenses.
How can I see my TurboTax fees?
In the Online version Premium is the new version. Online Premium combines Online Premier and the Self Employed version.
In The Desktop program they still have Premier and the Home & Business versions.
I agree with you, at the end of my 2 hours of doing my taxes the billing page stated i used sole proprietor version of the software. i didn't know. i dint choose that option.
oh if that's true then we must have been scammed because yes there is now...you don't know you used that version until the end it cost $209
Right that is what happened to me . I messed up and did not want to go back and start all over. On top of that I hit the live help somehow which I still can't figure out and it cost me 269 not happy with that been on here for like 15 years . Kind of feel like I got scammed if I did not want to start over
Just got done speaking to them through chat and they really have no help at all. They just said next year reach out before you order. - Thanks if I decide too . But Im going to look for other options. After 15 years and having my account, my dad's account and now my son's account. Im gonna look at switching and doing something else. Im not happy at all about the way this went down
They resolved my matter after talking with them. I will remain using turbotax .
