Name Change and Final 1065

We ended a LLC partnership to single member LLC in May of 2024; at that time we also changed the name of the LLC with the state (Texas) but not the IRS. I think I'm supposed to check the final and name change box. Do I file the final 1065 form with the original name or the new name?

If the name change was in effect BEFORE the change, you would indicate the name change but if it was part of the conversion, you should put the old name on the final 1065.  This will help prevent confusion if there are subsequent name searches.
