If you had a Net Operating Loss (NOL) in 2015, you can carry it forward to 2016. You need to enter it in TurboTax.

To enter your carried-forward NOL in TurboTax, follow these steps:

  • Open your tax return and click Search on the top right on your screen
  • In the search box, type NOL
  • On the search result page, click on Jump to NOL
  • TurboTax will take you to a page where you can enter your carried forward NOL (see attached screenshot).
