When you enter the K-1 there is section at the end where you enter Section 199A information.
Your response (below) says to indicate code "Z1" in Box 20. I only have a "Z" not "Z1" as an option. Using just "Z" I don't ever see the "We see you have Section 199A income" message anywhere. My K-1 has multiple entries listed for Section 199A, but I can't figure out how to enter these which show up as "* STATEMENT" on the Z line on the K-1. Appreciate any suggestions.
When entering your K-1, check that it has Box 20 Code Z. You don't need to enter any amount for Code Z.
I entered in K-1 line 20 "Z" and left the amount blank. When I click on the Quick zoom button, it takes me to a screen where I can enter supporting data. The problem is that it enters a total of these entries in section z and overrides the blank amount as above. The printed statement for my K-1 shows "* STMT rather than a total. What am I doing wrong? Does it matter that there is an amount in the Z section?
To enter the K-1 information for Line 20, Code Z, you need to use the interview/step-by-step function in TurboTax in order to get to the screens needed to enter the Sec 199A information.
Enter Code Z in Box 20 and leave the amount blank, then select Continue in the interview section to get to a page that says We see you have Sec 199A information.
Your K-1 should have a supplemental statement related to Line 20, Code Z (Sec 199A) that gives you the information you need to fill out this section in TurboTax. See the instructions provided by PatriciaV for detailed instructions.
