My Boyfriend and I were self employed last summer. Do we file seperate schedule C's or together?

If my boyfriend and I was self employed last year do we file separate schedule C's or together? We do have receipts for expenses, job's completed and equipment used.

If you are not legally married then you do not file a joint tax return.  You each file your own tax return with your own schedule C, etc.

If it was a Joint business, it sounds like you had a Partnership, which is a completely separate tax return.  If that is the case, you should go to a tax professional for the Partnership return.

You file a partnership return, form 1065.  The partnership does not pay any tax. Instead the partnership issues a schedule K-1 to each of the partners, reporting his/her share of the profit or loss. You then each report your share on your individual tax return.
