Is there a way to file if started a business that did not bring income but has a lot of expenses with equipment needed to start the business?
Yes, you can. Even if you didn't have any income if you started a business during 2017, you may claim expenses that incurred during the year. The expenses before you actually "opened" may be considered startup expenses and the expenses incurred after you opened are deductible as business expenses. To complete your filing, you will have to upgrade to TurboTax Self-Employed online edition
