Did you happen to save the email?
Did you save the transmittal form (8453-PE)?
Ok ... when did you file ? A 2019 form 1065 was due to be filed by 3/15/2020 UNLESS you put it on extension by 3/15/20 and then you would have until 9/15/2020 to file the return.
The extension of time to file from 4/15 to 7/15 was NOT for partnership returns. So if you did not go on extension timely the return was filed late and that is what the late filing notice is all about. Read the notice carefully ... it that what is really being questioned ?
I do have the email. Not sure what the transmittal form is though? I just submitted electronically and received one email that it was submitted and then a second a couple days later to say it was accepted.
The notice is not a late filing fine/penalty...it is a notice that they did not receive my 2019 1065 (at all). IRS says they have nothing on their end for 2019...thus the penalties.

Form 8453-PE is the form to which I am referring. You were supposed to print out, then sign and date, that form and then scan it back into the program before you e-filed. Did you do that?
Errors do occur ... so check your efile status for the return. If needed print out the efile status in the program, the email acceptance notice and the return and send the signed copy of the return as requested with the proof of filing attached.
