I lost $4k in cryptocurrency in 2018, but I did not get a 1099B form. How do I enter that in turbotax (premium) schedule D?

I see schedule D in TurboTax but it asks for data from 1099B.  The cryptocurrency investment group folded so I didn't get any paperwork.

If you hold Bitcoin as a capital asset, just like stocks or bonds, any gain or loss from the sale or exchange of the asset is taxed as a capital gain or loss. If you are a miner, it is completely different.

Here is where you enter it:

• Income & Wages
• Investment Income
• Stocks, Bonds....start
• No to a 1099B
• Type of investment... everything else
