I have a small business and filed as an S corp in 2016. Can I file with Schedule C for 2017 instead?

I own a small business with employees and independent contractors.  I filed 2016 as an S Corp but I am not sure that was necessary.  I am not sure if the form 2553 needed to be filed every year.  Can we file this year a Schedule C with our personal return or is the S Corp required until I file another form stating otherwise?  Thanks.

Sorry but once you file as an S-corp you must continue to do so until you close the business and file a final return for it.
