I have a personal 1099 for the same profession as my business. do I list it as personal or business income

You will include this income on your Schedule C (business income).

If you will continue doing work for the person or business that issued the 1099, you may wish to provide them with Form W-9 indicating to whom you would like for checks and 1099s to be issued.  Form W-9 can be found here:  https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw9.pdf
