In my experience, I have never been successful in deleting the state K-1s from the state return section of the program; they just continue to regenerate as long as the K-1 is entered on the federal side. Therefore, I can only recommend ensuring that the state K-1 does not contain any figures (i.e., is essentially blank).
This is my problem as well. I tried deleting the forms manually but they reappear as soon as I return to Easy Step. Isn't there some way to mark the initial input as Fed Only. I guess it begs the question what would happen if I had K1s going to various states? To which state would the program steer the amounts?
Workarounds I'm considering are to install another state product and send them the income there and then not file that state. Another is to file my state manually so I can physically remove the pages.
I would prefer something a little more elegant than those workarounds. Thanks.
As I stated previously, there is really no harm if the state K-1s do not contain any figures.
Further, I do not believe the K-1s get filed with the state returns, anyway (the federal K-1s do not - you retain them for your records).
I talked to support and they said there is no way in the program to remove them. You can set the amounts to zero as you said. I just I just don't trust the CA Franchise Tax Board to be cool. They tend to audit first and ask questions later! Thanks for the follow up.
