Assuming this is reported on a SCH C, when you work through the business one of the screens at the beginning will have a selection for "I sold or otherwise disposed of this business in 2015". Select it, and press on "as if" you didn't sell it. Then when you get to the business assets section, you MUST work through each individual asset listed there and report it's disposition. You'll do that on each asset by selecting the option for "I stopped using this asset in 2015" and then work it through to report it's sale, removal for personal use, or other disposition. You must do this for ALL assets listed. Otherwise, as far as the IRS is concerned, you are still "in business".
Additionally, if you claimed ANY vehicle use or expenses, you must work through the Vehicle Expenses section and for each vehicle select "I stopped using this vehicle in 2015" and work it through to show the disposition of that vehicle. Then just finish working through your business to the end.
When done, and if done correctly, 2015 will be the last year you will report this business on SCH C.
