As pointed out below Misc. Itemized deductions are no longer allowed. Unless the law is changed they will come back and be allowed after 2025. (Who knows).

I had thought that you were using TT Business and not TT Home & Business because that's what the forum said you were using. If you were using TT Business then another reason you couldn't find sch A is that Pub 529 and itemized deductions on Schedule A are for personal returns not business returns. It appears you are using TT Business, which prepares corporation, partnership, LLC, and trust returns. Deductions for those entities are done differently on different schedules.

First page of the Publication 529:

No miscellaneous itemized deductions allowed.
You can  no  longer  claim  any  miscellaneous  itemized  deductions.

Miscellaneous  itemized  deductions  are  those  deductions that would have been subject to the 2% of adjusted gross income limitation.

Not a good answer, what difference does it make if I use home and business or deluxe? sch a is sch a.

Sorry, but we are told you are using TT Business, not Home & Business. Business is not the same.

But @TurboTaxMichaelL1 's answer is, of course better. Sorry I didn't catch that.

You are right about that in pub 529. Certain deductions are allowed, just not miscellaneous itemized deductions. Kind of confusing.

Since I don't know what software you're using, what I would suggest is that rather than looking for Schedule A, instead look for the interview questions about the deduction you are looking for. E.g. search for "gambling losses" ... In TT Home & Business for windows desktop that brings up a bunch of help topics and a link that says "Jump to Gambling Losses," which will take you to the part of the interview asking about that and answers will flow to Sched A, line 16, depending upon your answers.

You can also find those in the "Deductions" table scrolling down to "Other deductions and credits" (may be different for the online version). You can even ask TT to walk you through all deduction questions. Just be careful about answering them so you don't miss any that appy.

Or in the desktop version you can do the advanced trick of going into forms mode. "Open Form" to get schedule A. scroll to line 16, click on the hourglass, wind up on the Misc Deds worksheet and scroll to line 32 where you can enter gambling losses. (Similar options for the other allowed ones). But in general it is much better to use the interview. in forms mode if you don't know exactly what you are doing, you can make mistakes and the TT guarantees are, I believe, weaker.
