I am so disheartened and confused as to why I am only receiving $ 16 for my returns. I see that I am paying for premium service as well as upgraded (required) to file??

Turbo Tax is great. They cover every legal deduction. If you want more back you can take the risk of using a preparer that will "fudge" your return (and hope you don't get audited)... or you can change your withholding so they take more out of your paycheck.
