If you’re looking to get started on your Self-Employed income and expenses, here’s what to do:
1. Open
your return.
(To do this, sign in to TurboTax and select the blue Take me to my return button.)
2. Select the menu icon (3 lines) at the top, and then Federal Taxes, and Wages & Income.
3. Work through any initial screens, then on the Your income and expenses screen, follow the arrow (“not started”) next to ‘Self-employment income and expenses.’
4. We’ll ask you some questions about your business, and then you’ll be able to enter your business income and expenses. If you have expenses to enter for the business you will need to upgrade to the Self Employment version of the program .
