How to fix a miscalculation on schedule A?

Turbo Tax is giving you the 40,000max but you only add up 39,355?   So you are $645 short?   What are you adding?  You could be missing some taxes from W2 box 14 or 19 or car registration fees.

Please clarify. Have you entered state and local taxes into TurboTax? If so, review your entries to see if your manual calculation included all of the different types of state and local taxes that TurboTax may have determined to be deductible up to $40,000.
