Same problem with TurboTax desktop Premier. Surely a bug. I got the error to clear by putting a "1" in the field.
In general, if you paid foreign taxes on income from Stocks, Bonds, Mutual funds or similar investments, the adjustment to the foreign gross income is NOT applicable. If this is your situation, enter zero to resolve the Smart Check message.
That is the problem - Entering zero does not resolve the Smart Check message. I entered "1" and the message went away but I should not have to do that.
Yes, that's what I did as well. It's just the worksheet. Seems like a bug in the software.
I tried 0 but validation blocked it. Then I found it was jut the worksheet and I confirmed turbotax doesn't submit the worksheet, so I tried to delete it. When system validation blocked deletion I entered 1, made sure it didn't recalculate anything that impacted my return, and moved on.
