How do I properly delete a 1099 business on my tax return that I was not active in the 2024?

Follow these steps:

• Make a copy of your business return from any prior years for your personal records - be sure to include the assets and depreciation worksheets. TurboTax only holds returns for a limited time. Being a business, you will need to hold your returns until you are sure this business is closed for good plus 3 years minimum. You may start up again in the future.
• You will want to dispose/ convert any assets used in the business for Jan 1, 2024. 
• Check to see if your business shows a gain or loss from the asset disposal. For example, if you had taken Sec 179 deduction for a vehicle, you may have some depreciation recovery on your return.
• If your return shows no income or loss, you can select to delete the sch C.
