You simply work it through the program (self-employed for online or Home & Business for the CD version) the way the program and designed and intended to be used, and the program (not you) will do all the calculating for you.

you can buy the 2019 version but be warned,  it is primarily the same as 2018 and won't take into a/c all the 2018 changes.  there will be numerous updates between now and the date e-filing is open and even some later that can change your return.
