The information required for the Vermont schedule HS 122 is entered by going through the Vermont return until you see a screen titled Vermont Homestead Declaration. Your answers on the screen after that one will determine whether you will enter data for the schedule HS 122.
If you owned a home as of December 31 or rented for at least 6 months and expect to purchase a home by April 1, then the next screens will be gathering information for the homestead declaration HS 122. This is where you should be able to update or change your information.
I wish that worked. Nothing would allow me to go back and enter there.
I will not be using TT to file my state taxes anymore.
it doesn’t allow access to entering uncommon situations like mine anymore.
You can try to delete your Vermont return and start it over. There are times that something like this can help to re-open forms that seem to be locked.
The following TurboTax help article will give you the steps to take:
How do I delete my state return in TurboTax Online?
I did that twice. This new software change now doesn’t allow for self entry. My situation is unique but common for anyone buying a home using the land trust. Now every one of us will have to file state taxes outside of TT.
I have to be able to enter lot rent municipal and education taxes on top of my house site taxes. I have 2 span numbers and while the land trust owns my land I pay the taxes on it as well.
You can switch from TurboTax Online to TurboTax Desktop. The desktop software version has Forms view that allows you make entries directly on forms and schedules. You would have to purchase and install the desktop version, but if it doesn't do what you need it has a 60 day money back guarantee: If you're not completely satisfied you can request a refund within 60 days (as long as you haven't filed your returns).
For information on switching, see: How do I switch from TurboTax Online to TurboTax Desktop?
