Happen to know this answer for stimulus... we filed 2018 jointly but 2019 separate, my husband has filed but I have not yet... so does it then default to 2018 still?

It probably will. There is a chance however, if you file immediately, that they will get your 2019 before your turn comes in the payout schedule.

Thank you! I have to file for an extension since we have to do separate this year. What if you owe money they don't use the stimulus refund for that do they?

The current deadline without extension is July 15, 2020, instead of April 15, 2020. The IRS is sending the stimulus payment to people that qualify.

Regarding money that you owe, see: Who can garnish an income tax refund?

Thank you! I saw that I wasn’t sure if I still haven’t filed if the IRS would default to our 2018 taxes. My husband has filed for 2019 but not me so I’m guessing they would use 2018 since we did jointly. I didn’t know I didn’t see a FAQ anywhere

for that.
