Gov.contribution credit & why don't I hear tax companies referencing that credit for their customers?

There are two DDs and two amounts on my W-2 in box 12 retirement funding, which amount do I use to calculate my Gov tax credit ?

You may need to ask your employer for a Corrected W-2.  There should be one code D entry, which is for your retirement plan contributions.  And there should be one code DD entry, which is for the amount your employer paid for your health insurance coverage.  If you have two code DDs then this may be a mistake.

Contact your employer's payroll department for an explanation.  Had your W-2 included a code D amount, then TurboTax would have automatically generated Form 8880 if you qualified for the Retirement Saver's Credit.
