Does a retail nursery list income under farming income? What additional exceptions  may apply on what qualifies as farm income?

If you would take a look at a Sch F and a Sch C you will see that the forms do exactly the same thing in general ... the difference is the expense categories ... the Sch F ones are geared more toward farming instead of general self employment.  So you can really use either form ... if you are in a retail business selling the product as opposed to raising the product then the C may be better.

Thanks for your reply, I had the same question. Since in our nursery we grow all our own plants onsite, we've chosen to use From F. However, now I'm not sure if we should list income under "Livestock, grain, produce, custom work, co-ops" or "other farm income"

Use Livestock, grain, produce, custom work, co-ops @MicheleHart. Other farm income is for items including a federal and state gasoline or fuel tax credit or refund.
