Why is Standard Deduction less for 2021 return than 2020 return?

To remove the Presidential Election Campaign election from your return, please follow the steps below:

1. Open your return.
2. Search presidential campaign with the magnifying glass tool.
3. Select the Jump to link.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to remove your election. 

In addition, the standard deduction depends on your filing status. Did your filing status change from 2020 to 2021 allowing you less of a standard deduction? The standard deduction did increase from 2020 to 2021. Please see the charts below.
