Can I deduct cost of tree removal?

A tree expert advised me to remove a large, rotting tree in my backyard before it falls on my home. Is the cost of removing the tree deductible? If so, where do I enter it in TurboTax?

No, that is not deductible. Home repairs and maintenance to your own home are not deductible.

I thought you could make this deduction if you have a renter in your home and you need to maintain the property.
