Trying to report rental property income, program ask for various 1099 formats that don't apply since I've never received any from the renter. The only feasible form I see is the 1099 Miscellaneous but I'm apprehensive about filling in the pertinent information when it requires the renter to supply. Are there any legalities issues?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
Make sure you are in the Rental section of the program and then check the circle as shown in the screenshot.

Landlords usually receive a 1099-MISC is their property is managed and someone else collects the rent, or if the property is rented to a business.
Here is information for entering your rental income and expenses.
Thank you for that, hopefully the program claims I can address this later.
