In 2018 I invested $30000.00 in a business that failed, loss all my money. How can I write it off?

It depends on how you "invested" the money.

1. Did you start your own business and spend $30,000 in equipment?
2. Did you become a Partner in a Partnership and the business failed?
3. Did you buy stock in a corporation and that stock is now worthless?
4. Did you LOAN money to a business and that business is now out-of-business?
5. Something else?
