1099-NEC correction not working in Quick Employer Forms after e-filing

I have two businesses and accidentally e-filed a 1099-NEC via the Turbotax/Intuit Quick Employer Forms from the wrong business account. It was accepted by the IRS. When I tried to correct it  - by putting in 0 as the paid amount- the form doesn't allow this correction because there is "no amount reported". It also switched the status from "E-file accepted" to "In-complete".
How do I get the corrected form (reflecting that I didn't pay anything to the contractor) to the IRS?

You can print out a corrected form showing that the actual payout was zero and mail it in.  There is no great rush since the original was filed on time (although the contractor may disagree if you have issued them 2 1099s).  Changing it to zero is the correct way to do it but the system isn't really ready for amended returns as yet.  So just print the corrected one and mail it.

1099-NEC correction not working in Quick Employer Forms after e-filing

Thank you Robert for responding. I called the IRS and they recommended to use their e-filing IRIS program for the corrected 1099-NEC. After failing to even set up an account with them (I couldn't provide the requested Business ID number as I file under my social), I did indeed go the paper route and hope for the best. This required getting the IRS original carbon copy form as you can NOT just file a downloaded copy with the IRS.

I wish Turbotax' Quick Employer Forms program wouldn't so prominently state that it is now possible to "Correct e-filed forms!" for 1099-INT, DIV, NEC and MISC forms when clearly can't do so.

Not only could it not correct the 1099, it erased any record of me having e-filed the original form after I tried their "correct" option.

This year, I also received no email confirmation from Intuit or the IRS that I did indeed file any of my 1099's after they were supposedly "accepted".
