Solved

We have a payroll service that generates and files our 1099 and W4s. How do I enter the payroll information into turbo tax? Turbo tax asks me if I want to generate them.

I don't need Turbo Tax to generate those documents.  I just need to enter the payroll as a tax deduction.  How do I do that?

To Enter your Self-Employed Business expenses please follow the instructions below:

  1. Log into TurboTax Online and access your Tax Return through the Timeline
  2. From your Welcome Page near the upper right-hand corner click on the Search Box
  3. In the search box type Schedule C (capital S and C) and click enter. When the list appears click on Jump to Schedule C
  4. In this section a list of Businesses will come up. Next to the business you want to work on click on Edit.
  5. This will take you to the next page and near the bottom you will click on Add Expenses for this Work.
  6. You will scroll down and click on Less Common Expenses
  7. From the list that appears you will select the bubble for Contract Labor and Employee Expenses and click on Continue.
  8. This allowed you to create this item on the list of Expenses. Now you just follow steps 3 and 4 above and your will see Contract Labor and Employee Expenses in the list without having to create W2s or 1099s.
