Question

I was provided a K-1 for an out of state partnership. My state tax returns are asking for information I do not have and have not had to fill out in prior years.

I live in New Jersey and was a full time resident in 2016.  I moved to New Jersey part way thru 2015.  I have a K-1 for a New Hampshire partnership and Turbo Tax is asking for New Jersey state income information relating to the out of state partnership.  I was not provided this information. Why do I have to provide this info now and not for 2015?

Many states begin their tax computation with federal taxable income. From there you may have to make adjustments to get to state taxable income.  An example is federal Section 179 and bonus depreciation.  

Did you receive a separate state K-1 or K-1 equivalent.  This state K-1 will reflect any state level "subtractions" and/or "additions" necessary at the state level.
