Do I receive any credit for my newborn born in March 2021 from the third round of stimulus payments?

My wife and I received the correct amount in March of 2021, but the government obviously did not know about the birth of our newborn. Do I get to receive any from her March 2021 birth? Currently, the software is saying I received the correct amount ($2,400).

Yes the software should automatically put in the stimulus for the baby----if you entered the information correctly.

Make sure you have entered your child as a dependent in My Info, and that you have entered the child's Social Security number. If your child was born in 2021make sure you said he lived with you the whole year. There is an oddly worded question that asks if the child paid over half their own support. Say NO to that question.

You should see the child tax credit on line 28 and the recovery rebate credit for the stimulus on line 30.

I have all my information entered. When I go to Federal--> Federal Review it calculates my amount eligible as $2,800, which is what I received. Do I not get more for the new dependent born in 2021?

You would not receive the third stimulus payment for a child born in 2021, but you would qualify for a $1,400 Recovery Rebate Credit on line 30 of your 2021 Federal 1040 tax return for the child if you correctly report the child as a qualifying dependent .
