Missing info in 1040 schedule E line 3

Last year, 2018, was our first tax filing after moving to TX from WA.

We still own a rental in WA and entered the income from it into TT Premium online and e-filed.

After reviewing last years work online I don't see that rental income reported on line 3 of the 1040 schedule E form. (Rents received)

It does show up in our 2017 taxes.

What could have happened?

I did find a similar question with an answer over my head.

I would better understand a software glitch.

Is it even possible to have the 1040 schedule E included in a return but leave the value at zero or incomplete.

I would think TT would report an error. This is why I don't think I forget to enter a value.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I cannot tell you for certain what actually occurred, but I can tell you that it is absolutely possible to have a Schedule E with no figure on Line 3. All that needs to be done to generate a Schedule E (with no errors) is to input a figure (any figure) as an expense - Line 3 can be completely blank.

Ultimately, the exact nature of the error is largely irrelevant; if your rental income did not get reported for one reason or another (software glitch, missed input, etc.), then you will most likely need to file an amended return.
