Your notice says that my State tax information is incomplete. What else do I need to do?

Your state return will show a status of incomplete if you e-filed your federal return by itself and it has not yet been accepted. If your federal return has been accepted you can e-file your state return.  E-filing a state return by itself is only allowed once a federal return is accepted. 

To complete your state taxes in TurboTax Online: 

1. Sign into your TurboTax Online account.
2. Go to My Account then select My Tax Timeline..
3. Scroll down to the SOME THINGS YOU CAN DO section, click Add a state (you are not actually adding a state, this will just take you back into your tax return..
4. Click on the State Taxes tab.
5. Click Continue to start or complete your state taxes.
6. Click Done with State.
7. Continue through the flow to review and file your state taxes.
8. You may want to review the State Taxes section to confirm the return is complete.
