I did my taxes and had my dependents down for 3 of my kids. My other two my ex claims for 2019 but somehow my daughter that I'm not claiming this year her info got put in for EIC and my son who I am claiming didn't. I know I can file an amendment when the form becomes available but by then I will have gotten my refund. The amount I'm receiving shouldn't change just swapping one name out for the other should it?

If you and your ex claimed the same child the last to file will be rejected so see if your return is accepted. You are correct that if your return goes through you will have to amend it. Your tax liability should not change.
ok, his already got rejected I filed mine a week ago and it was already accepted. I plan on amending it once the form becomes available but I wasn't sure if it would change the dollar amount. I need to list my son that I'm claiming instead of my daughter that my ex is claiming but I will get my return before I can amend it. I just wanted to make sure that it wasn't going to screw up how much I get back.
Wait to amend until you get your refund. The amount should be the same when you amend. The amended return needs to be mailed and it takes many month to process.
In the meantime, your ex has to file by mail as he cannot e-file. The problem will be resolved when you submit your amended return.
