TurboTax has no way to know when you printed and mailed your 2016 amended tax return to the IRS.  Amended tax returns can only be printed and mailed, they cannot be e-filed.

After the amended tax return was mailed the status of the amended return should be available on the IRS website for amended return 3 weeks after mailing - https://www.irs.gov/filing/wheres-my-amended-return
