Why would my tax return still be pending after almost a week?

I filed my state and federal returns last Friday Morning (today is Thursday the following week) and they’re both still pending neither accepted or rejected. I’ve always gotten a response within 48 hours and I am just wondering if something is wrong.

The IRS will not process returns until January 24.

After January 24 start watching your emails.

When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax.  The first one will say that your return was submitted.  The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected.  If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.
