For what? The fees? You are in Deluxe. It is $40 for federal and 40 for state. Then to have the fees deducted is an EXTRA 39.99 Pay with Refund service charge which you can avoid by paying with a credit card.

How am I avoiding a fee if you are asking me to pay for it in a different form? And why am I being charged $40 for the deluxe filing esitioe if I was unable to choose the $0 file service?
You can avoid the extra Pay with Refund fee of 39.99 (44.99 in California) by paying the Turbo Tax fees 40+40 with a credit card. Then they won't take the fees out of your refund and you will save the 39.99.
In the regular Turbo Tax Free Edition, information that you can enter is limited now. Why do I have to upgrade from the Free Edition?

To go back to the Free Edition you can try to clear and start over https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/using-turbotax/help/how-do-i-clear-and-start-over-in-turbotax-onli...
OR There is also The Turbo Tax Free File program which is free for federal and state. And has more forms than the Federal Free Edition, like Schedules A, B, C , D, E, F, EIC, H, K-1, SE, etc.
To qualify for the Free File website you just need to meet one of these 3 things
AGI $36,000 or less
Active duty military with AGI of $69,000 or less
OR qualify for EIC (earned income credit.)
In order to use the Free File program, you have to start it at a special website. Click on the Orange button I Qualify, Let's get Started

That makes no sense. How are you avoiding the fee if you have to pay for it using another form of payment? Credit cards have to be repayed?
So the fee being avoided is the one you would pay if you paid with your return.
Basically there are 3 fees 2 for each return and 1 for choosing pay with refund.
If you pay with your debit or credit card you are only paying 2 of the fees $40 for each return
As I said....you can avoid the EXTRA 39.99 service charge. You still have to pay the regular fees.
